Grand Designs Best Eco Home Award Finalist
The Laburnum development made the top six as a finalist in the Best Eco Home category at the annual Grand Designs Awards 2010.
There were 26 entrants in the category. Commenting on the finalists, Kevin McCloud, the TV presenter and author who introduced the Awards, said that it was encouraging that such outstanding British architecture was being produced in such difficult economic circumstances.
Laburnum sold quickly, and is now occupied by a local family, who closely followed the six-month construction process. Initially, they were just impressed by the design of the house – but eventually came to appreciate the eco aspects, so much so they decided to swap their desirable period property for the contemporary Laburnum.
We moved to Laburnum from a large Victorian semi. Given the work that needed doing to maintain our former house, the contrast could not have been greater. We have been very impressed by the high quality specification and finish. Our heating bills are significantly less because of the energy efficiency of the new property. The house is still a talking point with local residents!
Richard – Homeowner
We’ve worked with Mark on two developments; an eleven apartment scheme and one stunning contemporary detached home. He has a very innovative approach to house builds and has a very thorough knowledge of sustainable developments and energy efficient design. Attention to detail is the key to Mark’s success and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Neil Taylor MD – Hip Entertainment Systems.
The house is modern and comfortable. We had only minor snagging issues which were quickly resolved with great customer service. The house demonstrates high quality and attention to detail. We are very happy here!
